If you are familiar with the famous DPL (Da Poetry Lounge) off fairfax then you may already be familiar with Darnel Davenport a.k.a. Mr. Poetic. If not, then let me tell you that you are missing out on an awesome wordsmith. The below footage is from his feature during the DPL’s 12th anniversary celebration. I was present this night and do believe it was a proud moment to watch not only a dope performer but a good friend kill the stage.
Also, below, I have additional footage of him performing…both vids were shot by a young film maker by the name of Jon Brandon Cruz…Do enjoy!
This is an old little video from B.o.B. I spotted on 2dopeboyz.com. I’ve been feelin B.o.B.’s music since we seen him live at the Lupe show at The House of Blues…#REALSHIT
Its going down…basement! (corny ass line right?lol) Anyway, if you’re in the O.C. area July 31 do come out to the Art Supply Warehouse and show some support for urban artists such as Jordan Yescas a.k.a Hiro.
We got in a heated debate about the best whip ever and I decided to fill y’all in my top five.lol Check it out…
5. 1969 Camaro
For the most part I’m an old school American car guy so for the five spot I have to go with the ‘69 Camaro. That joint got alotta steez to it. Yea, they just came out with the “new/old” version of it but I’m just not sure how I feel about those.lol
4. 1985 Carrera Porsche
I know Porsche isn’t American but when is this vehicle not sexy? I went with the ‘85 version of it but I really could’ve pulled out any year on this one.
3. 1963 Corvette Stingray
The Stingray is in it’s own world really. I went with the ‘63 because that was the year production started on the vehicle but the ‘69 convertible is ILL.
2. The Back To The Future DeLorean
No, not just the dmc-12 but specifically the suped up Back To The Future version Mr. Marty McFly was sporting. This whip is iconic…So what it’s a fictional vehicle?lol
1. 1967 Mustang Shelby
My all-time favorite vehicle…This car makes me happy in ways a car shouldn’t…lol nuff said.
I’m up youtubing@3a.m. my favorite vids on some bored sh*t.lol The first one comes from one of my all-time favorite brands…Levi. This is directed by Cary Fukunaga. The second video, “Young Forever” is directed by Anthony Mandler. These two videos came out around the same time and bare a striking resemblence in style and meaning. I’m not sure who jacked who’s steez but both of these videos is dope.
